    And hell spontaniously freezes over.
So. For those of you who don't know. I'm now working for a game company! Great place, I'm programming my butt off and loving it. Only downside was a huuuuugely long move and that Starr's still in NY thanks to the stuff she's gotta do out there. :( I miss my kitten. But at least things are finally rolling. I don't feel like I'm stuck in neutral anymore.

    Stress, funny how it works.
So yeah, I have a part time job now so I won't be peniless soon. That's good. I'm still feeling worked up and stressed though, those of you who should know why, do, I'm not going to post it here because even if it is a locked entry I don't feel right telling everying. Suffice to say things are ok but just.....tough. Anyway Still looking for a career....if anyone's got it in with a game company let me know. Peace.

if I were a cat? I'd be purring like crazy
As it is I think I've got a perminant smile plastered across my face. Tonight me and sara were playing WoW when she suddenly had a headache so she suggested we snuggle and watch tv while munching some popcorn. That went well, got some of my fav (just plain panpopped with some salt, oddly enough the best popcorn ever if you ask me.) and we ate and watched iron chef. After their newest iron chef kicked some serious butt we went upstairs, and rather than play a game to help her sleep or anything, we just snuggled up in bed under some covers and spent the two hours before she had to go to bed for work tommorow warm and cuddly. :3 best night in a LONG time.

P.S. Spike tv has on tommorow never dies. I swear god or whatever deity is up there decided I need a hug ^_^

    So...still looking for work.
Right brain games was a bust. So was the more recent try for vicarious visions, an albany based company -groans- that woulda been really nice. But oh well. There's more companies out there, and I'll keep looking till I find mine. Till then I'm looking into some temporary work and I'm gonna start up some home brewed stuff. Dunno if anyone who's on this knows but if anyone knows some good C# books I could read let me know, I'd like to start learning it and making some games of my own. So yeah if anyone hears anything or knows a guy who knows a guy let me know.

    RANDOM FIREWORKS!
Me and sara were sitting playing games and started hearing booms outside. We thought "local idiots with guns" at first till we started seeing the fireworks! Woodstock was having a random fireworks display so we piled into the car and drove out there. Totaly worth it! The finale was awesome! Today was an awesome day!

    I am a goddamn idiot.
So, I was looking for more places to send off my resume to today right? Business as usual. I get to sucker punch (studio that made Sly Cooper for those of you who know of it) and I stop. They have the same test set up as Insomniac did. No problem I think. Maybe I can even send in the old test results. Till I get to some lines in it a bit more clear than the ones in the insomniac one and I realize EXACTLY what I did wrong in the insomniac test. I am a frigging IDIOT. It was a blatantly obvious way to do it and while it's not the fastest solution it is the most memory efficient which was the whole damned point. At least I can do it right this time but damn >.< I feel like a tard.

gettin back up and keeping on keeping on.
Well I'm over my funk about insomniac. It happens, I'm not broke up over it that much and I've sent out a crapton of other resumes since. In other news, if you have not seen the transformers movie. Go see it. Now. Seriously it is a very very good movie.

    damn....
Well, the insomniac games thing came up as a no thanks from them. I'll be in their files for a year though incase something comes up I'd be good for though apparently. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't have gotten so excited over it anyway, it was just an aptitude test, apparently one I didn't understand on some level or didn't fill out properly or something. Oh well, here's to doing better next time.

It's finished and on it's way.
Well The test is done and on it's way to the boys at insomniac o_o; it wasn't hard or anything at all and I did it in a day (waited and spent today testing it before sending it off) and it's way earlier than the week they gave me to do it. Now I can only wait and hope they like my work and my answers to the questions they gave me. God, this could be it if I get it. I'd have my career in my pocket.

    just sayin hi folks.
Couldn't sleep thanks to an impromptu long ass nap yesterday. Friend of mine helped me get my paws on Dawn of War "dark crusade" recently. I had expected a good game, and wasn't disapointed. It's a very good work by the boys at relic (mental note, see if they'er hiring) and the warhammer 40k guys. Those not familiar with the game series, it's basicly a futuristic real time war game. The catch is they decided to take a diffrent path on the idea of resources as apposed to say starcraft. Where starcraft has vespene gas and minerals, warhammer instead has strategic points and powerplants. Basicly the idea is the more "strategic points" you hold on the map the more your commanders are willing to send you to help you in combat, this takes the place of "minerals" starcraft had. Power you just make power plants to generate yourself. The result is that where you could often end up spending a lot of time convoying and protecting your harvesters in starcraft, warhammer has geared itself entirely toward action and combat. It makes for a more intense gaming experence and it works rather well. As for the particulars, there's several diffrent races to play as in warhammer. My personal fav three are the Space marines, the tau and the necron. Space marines, they'er the newbie army so to speak, by this I mean if you're new to the game, play these guys. You are least likely to fail with these guys as your troops. Their basic solider unit is quite powerful and can be modified through upgrades to fit almost any role. The Tau, what can I say about my top fave-chuckles- I think "victory though superior firepower" comes to mind. These guys know guns and they know them very very well. Their basic soldier dies easily in melee but at range rips through just about anything in the game like a hot knife though butter. Now, the necron. To get these guys, do the following, throw the borg, terminators, and zombies into a blender. They'er strong, slow, impossibly hard to kill at times and to top it all off, 90% of thier units have a chance to just stand back up even if you kill them! Anyway, if anyone's debating getting it, just warning you if you don't have the previous two games you need to buy them to open up the races besides the tau and the necron for multiplay online. All the races are useable everwhere else just online multiplayer is restricted. So you don't 'need' the other games but as they've been out awhile they should be cheap anyway. Well now that I've ranted my lips off about a game I think I'll possibly go look for something to eat.-chuckles- take care guys.

    freaky...
Had an experence last night that I rarely have. I downloaded an anime called "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" expecting a murder mystery sorta anime, kinda my bag, something I'd enjoy ect. The anime was not exactly what I expected 0.o; There's a massive amount of occult refrences in it (I won't ruin anything for folks who like that and would enjoy the anime) but it's seriously freaked me out a bit. I even felt a bit ill at some of the things they suggested going on in the story. I'm also rather confused thanks to how it's structured, it seems to be many stories about the same situation, and at first I thought it was sort of a "these are the same story, just diffrent parts at diffrent times" but now I'm not so sure due to how some of it has turned out. I'm 12 episodes into the 26 episode anime and it's kinda...bothering me. I know it shouldn't, and I should just relax and not worry about it but for whatever reason it's sticking in my mind. >.<; It's that sort of "finish it, you need closure" sort of thing because I think the rest of the episodes should sort out what was happening but also with what's already happened part of me doesn't want to see what's going to happen >.<; Damn, I wish I hadn't downloaded it now...In anycase I guess this was meant as a partial warning to anyone who wanted to see it, there is some seriously screwed up stuff going on in it. Be prepared.

    been awhile...
I havn't been able to update in awhile. Things have been pretty hairy really. Two local buddies of mine,Justin and my old school buddy grog, might be moving out of town fairly soon. I've been missing ny like crazy and more specificly missing Starr. -sighs- I've been down here too damned long. Been too much of a shut in too, I keep meaning to go out more to help keep my sanity but I miss the chances I get. Ah well...back to the grind for now.

Yes folks. Germany is unhappy with the new dead rising game because it's violent against zombies.Apparently they are cracking down on Violent games in general but christ Germany of all people is upset about violent games with all the other stuff that comes outta there? Oh yeah and black is now white, left is now right and gravity has been repealed. Have fun kids.

    Still alive.
Well school starts back up for me the 26th so I'm enjoying what time I got left. Feeling slightly meloncholy but I think it's a hint of lonelyness. Sara's off on a trip and well, in the past month or so I think we've become closer than we ever have been. I think we've finaly 'fixed' everything that was really truely wrong with our relationship that we've hit so far now. I feel more confident about our relationship than ever and well...I miss her -chuckles- what else can I say right? I can't wait to see her again and she's off having fun with my relatives in Kentucky. Wish I coulda gone with....july can't come soon enough. My week off I head back to ny and get to spend time with her again. And since we jumped the latest hurtle in our relationship it's seemed like she's truely happier and more confident than ever. Now if I can just convince her that her voice is that of an angel and her art isn't utter crap we're all set -lol- see you around guys.

Anyway it might be a couple days before I'm online again at my own comp so I'll see you folks around when my desktop gets here. pretty sweet system on the way and hopefuly it'll just be a day or two before it gets here. Anyway well wishes and such, see ya all soon.

    What the.....
Ok, up early, couldn't sleep, and I saw something on X-play that....ok this was just a 'special' kind of 'special' here. Their veiwer mail is usualy pretty low on the IQ pool anyway but this was just...well here. Pretty much word for word it went like this.

"My two year old recently picked up a copy of Quake 3 arena"

let me pause a moment so you can apperciate the stupidity in that. Got it? Good. It gets worse.

"I thought it was cute at first, but now I'm a bit concerned, can you suggest a kinder gentler First person shooter?"

....as I said a special kind of special. Even Adam said a resounding "NO!" seconds after they finished reading it followed by a how the heck did the kid get it in the first place. I REEEEEEAAALLY hope that was a joke or a typo on the part of the sender. I'm sorry but what kind of RETARD gives a two year old a game like THAT?!?! oi....parents like this are why people yell at game makers like me even though we clearly lable who our games are for >.>. Damned parents....
